Bangladeshi-origin Nadiya became top 100 Women by BBC


Nadiya Hussain, the British-Bangladeshi winner of the Great British Bake Off, has been placed on the hundred top women selected for 2016 by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).She joins others in the list, which includes a diverse range of women from across the globe, including former adult film star-turned-Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, a Saudi comedian, a Baloch separatist campaigner, an Indian CEO known as the ‘Tractor Queen of India’ and more.
BBC 100 Women names 100 influential and inspirational women around the world every year.
They go on to create documentaries, features, and interviews about their lives, giving more space for stories that put women at the centre.
Online viewers will have a chance to look at the list categorised by user occupation, location or by selecting pre-existing qualities such as creative, defiant, individual, etc.
2016 marks the fourth year the BBC has put together the list.
Some of this year’s high-profile women include singer-songwriter Alicia Keys; US gold medal winning gymnast Simone Biles and French politician Rachida Dati.
