Teachers of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) on Tuesday sought support from President Abdul Hamid for the treatment of its ailing Vice Chancellor Prof Khaleda Ekram.
A seven-member delegation of Buet, led by its acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Jebun Nasrin Ahmad, met the President at Bangabhaban and sought his cooperation. Dhaka, UNB News Agency Reported.
During the meeting, the delegation informed the President about the latest health condition of Prof Khaleda Ekram, now undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
They also apprised the President of Buet’s overall academic activities.
Abdul Hamid wished early recovery of Prof Khaleda Ekram and assured the delegation of extending overall cooperation for her treatment.
Khaleda Ekram, now on life support, has been suffering from cancer and other physical complications. She was taken to Bangkok by an air ambulance on May 13 for better treatment.
