In the case complainant stated that Ershad misusing his official capacity and in collusion with other accused purchased radar from the
US instead of France despite higher prices and thereby caused a loss of Tk 640.4 million to the state exchequer.
The investigators submitted the charge sheet of the case against five accused on November 27, 1994 and the court framed charges against the
accused on August 12, 1995.
Other four accused are former air chief Momtaj Uddin Ahmed, former assistant air chief Sultan Mahmud and AKM Musa of United Traders
(fugitive). Later, charges were dropped against other accused former director of United Traders Shahzad Ali.
