Popular Dhallywood actor Ferdous Ahmed is now going to share silver screen with Hollywood actress Céline Beran in a British-Bangladesh film, titled ‘In Pursue of Love’. The film depicts identity crisis of the third generation Bangladeshi diasporas in the UK.The movie will be directed by GM Furukh, who is a London-based budding filmmaker. Four UK-based Bangladeshis under the banner of Four Motion Pictures Limited will produce the film. The Maharat (formal declaration) of the film was held at the Dhaka Club. The main actors of the film Ferdous and Céline, two producers Kudrul Islam and Salim Khan were present at the programme.
In the film Ferdous will play the character Redwan, a Bangladeshi diaspora living in the UK who marries Razia a migrated Bangladeshi to the UK. The couple, parents of two kids, faces problems for the identity crisis in the UK.
‘I insisted them to initiate the project. And I believe the film will be a success as it depicts real life story of the Bangladeshi-British who are going through some dilemmas to adjust with the native British. GM Furuk is a talented filmmaker and the playbacks of the film are also very good,’ Ferdous said.
Céline said she agreed to act in the film as the script was very interesting and challenging. ‘I’m excited to play in the challenging character,’ she said.
One of the producers Salim Khan said the film would be released internationally at the end of this year. ‘We are trying to inject fresh blood to the country’s film industry as an expression of our love for Bangladesh and its film industry’, said Salim, adding that they would produce more films in the coming days.
