Ferry service on resumes after 16 days


Ferry service on the Bhola-Laxmipur route resumed here on Monday morning 16 days after its suspension.Deputy Commissioner of Bhola district Selim Reza inaugurated the ferry service around 9:30am at the new ferry ghat at the end of the Biswa Road constructed by BIWTA.‘Kanakchanpa’ ferry started its operation from the ghat in the morning.On July 26, ferry service of Bhola-Laxmipur route came to halt for erosion of the road up to Elisha Ferry Ghat by the Meghna river.All types of the vehicular movement on the road came to a halt as it was totally damaged due to the erosion caused by the strong current of the river. -UNB, Bhola
