Implement ‘One house one farm’ project successfully: Ranga


State Minister for Rural Development and Cooperatives Moshiur Rahman Ranga here today directed the concerned officials for successful implementation of the ‘One house, one farm’ project.He said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing the project along with other comprehensive uplift programmes to assist the rural people, including womenfolk, in attaining self-reliance by driving away poverty.The State Minister was addressing a meeting with the officials of Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB), District Cooperative Office and upazila level officials of BRDB at Rangpur Circuit House in the city.Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Farid Ahammad and government officials were present in the meeting.
District Cooperative Officer Abdul Wahed and Deputy Director of BRDB Sirajul Islam apprised the State Minister about the massive development programmes being conducted by their organisations and progress achieved so far in the district.The State Minister said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had put importance on the cooperative concept and utilised the same in re-building the war-torn Bangladesh during the post-independence period.As continuation of the process initiated by Bangabandhu, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has launched the ‘One house, one farm’ project to improve life standard of rural people and their livelihoods to advance the nation through alleviating poverty, he said.He said the present government will take initiatives to provide training to rural people as well as those involved with various activities of the BRDB and cooperatives for turning the poorer section rural population into skilled workforce.After getting training on various trades, the skilled rural people would have more job opportunities at home and they would be able to go abroad also to earn huge foreign exchange to strengthen national economy and accelerate development, he said.He called upon the concerned government officials for working with utmost sincerity and dedication in ensuring proper implementation of the ‘One house, one farm’ project to bring about a revolutionary change in the rural economy. -BSS, Rangpur
