Khaleda sued for bomb attack on Shajahan’s procession


Dhaka – The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Sunday deferred the date for submission of the investigation report in the case lodged against 14 persons including BNP Chief Begum Khaleda Zia for a bomb attack on a procession of Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan to December 17.Magistrate Nur Nahar Yasmin of the CMM Court fixed the new date as the investigation officer of the case did not submit the report on Sunday.
The First Information Report (FIR) of the case says that on February 16, 2015, then a section of the members of Muktijodda Parishad gathered in Gulshan area of the city to conduct a raid programme surrounding the residence of Khaleda Zia. It has been alleged as 20 to 30 thousand people led by minister Shajahan Khan set out to raid the residence the accused allegedly hurled bombs on the people in a bid to kill them.
Ismail Hossain Bachchu, General Secretary of Dhaka Transport Union filed the case against 14 BNP leaders including BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the party’s Vice Chairman Selima Rahman and BNP leader Khandaker Mahbub. – Special Correspondent
