Independence Day Gymnastics Competition begins

Dhaka, 25 April - The Independence Day Gymnastics Competition has begun at the National Sports Council Gymnasium in the city on Thursday. 

Bangladesh Gymnastics Federation (BGF) vice president Ahmedur Rahman formally inaugurated the three-day meet as the chief guest.

Nearly fifty men and women gymnasts from thirty five teams/clubs in junior-senior category including Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan, Bangladesh Police, Quantum are participating in this competition, organized by BGF.

The competition has been organized as a qualifier for the team selection of the Asian (senior and junior) Gymnastics Competition to be held in Uzbekistan on May 12-20.

The closing ceremony of the competition will be held on Saturday (Apr 27) with Youth and Sports Minister Nazmul Hassan will be present as the chief guest and distribute the prizes.

Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Syed Shahed Reza will be present there as a special guest in the prize distribution ceremony to be presided by federation president Sheikh Bashir Ahmed.
