Next polls to be timely even if BNP doesn’t join: Dipu


Foreign Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Thursday said the next national election will be held timely following Constitutional obligation even if opposition BNP does not take part in it. “The 10th parliamentary elections will be held timely due to Constitutional obligation even if BNP doesn’t come to election,” she told reporters at the local Circuit House. The Foreign Minister also said they can not give any opportunity to any unconstitutional force to grab State power utilizing ‘Constitutional crisis.’ She said there will be an interim polls-time government and who are going to be part of that government depends on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s dialogue with the political parties. Dipu Moni said the Prime Minister’s offer to the Opposition Leader for dialogue is still valid. “The door for dialogue is still open. The dialogue can be held any day when the opposition leader wants.” Police Super M Amir Jafar, district Awami League vice president Osman Gani Patwari, Sadar upazila AL president Nurul Islam Nazim Dewan and general secretary Arshad Miaji, among others, were present. – UNB
