10 fingerprints to be required for NID from 2023

The Election Commission (EC) will start their tasks to take 10 fingerprints of voters from January 2023.



The Election Commission (EC) will start their tasks to take 10 fingerprints of voters from January 2023.
AKM Humayun Kabir, Director General (DG) of National Identity Card (NID) wing, revealed the information while addressing reporters in the capital on Saturday (September 24).
He said, EC will update voter's fingerprints to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Those who have not given 10 fingerprints will be re-fingerprinted from January. However, those who have received smart cards after giving finger prints will remain out of the process.
The Election Commission has formulated an election plan ahead of the 12th National Election. EC is planning to use electronic voting machine-EVM voting in maximum 150 seats this time.
