225 Bangladeshis held in Malaysia

Dhaka – Some 225 Bangladeshis have been held after a series of drives against irregular migrants in Malaysia, reports Malaysian media on Tuesday.
A total of 1,565 illegal immigrants have been arrested by authorities under ‘Ops Sepadu’ drive, which started at midnight.Those arrested include 695 Indonesians, 225 Bangladeshis and 157 Myanmar nationals, according to a report of The Star Online.
Quoting Malaysian Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the report said the status of 6,149 immigrants was checked in 107 operations conducted nationwide. – UNB
