Youth killed in train accident in Gazipur

An unidentified youth was killed after being run over by a train in Bou Bazar area of Tongi East Police Station early this morning.
According to locals, the accident occurred at 6:00 am along the railway line in East Arichpur's Bou Bazar area, when a Dhaka-bound train was passing through the location.
The youth died on the spot after being struck by the train.
Police recovered the body around 10:00 am.
Officials from the railway police said that the identity of the deceased could not be immediately ascertained.
Rahima Khatun, in-charge of Tongi Railway Police Outpost, confirmed the matter.
Rahima informed that efforts are underway to identify the victim.
She added that necessary legal procedures are being carried out and further investigation into the incident is ongoing, reports BSS.
