3 killed including mother, daughter in Netrokona road crash

Three passengers, including a mother and her daughter, of a battery-powered auto-rickshaw were killed and seven others injured in a road accident in Challisha area in Sadar upazila here today.

 
The deceased were identified as Nurjahan, 50, wife of Ainul Haque, a resident of Amli Keshabpur village in Rouha union of the upazila, his daughter Smriti Akhter, 18, and a teenager named Iti, 15.
  
The accident took place at Challisha Bypass Intersection on the Netrokona-Mymensingh highway around 11:30 am when a bus hit an auto-rickshaw, leaving its three passengers dead on the spot and seven others injured.
 
At that time, Nurjahan's husband Ainul Haque and auto-rickshaw driver Rehan Mia and five other passengers were seriously injured. Locals rescued the injured and first took them to Netrokona Modern Sadar Hospital. Later, when their condition deteriorated, all of them were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition, reports BSS.
 
District Police Spokesperson and Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) Hafizul Islam confirmed the incident.
