Two journalists were killed in a tragic road accident in Jashim Uddin Circle area in the city’s Uttara area in the early hours of today.

The deceased were Rabiul Alam Raju, 62, a reporter of the daily Sangbad Diganta and Shakibul Hasan, 35, a reporter of Praner Bangladesh.

Uttara Pashchim Thana Officer-in-Charge Khalid Mansur confirmed the incident saying the accident occurred when a bus hit two motorbikes in the area, leaving bike riders Rabiul and Shakibul injured critically.

Locals rescued them and sent them to Kurmitola General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Police said they were returning their homes after watching a World Cup match.

The colleagues of the two reporters expressed deep shock at the death of the duo.

They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, reports BSS.
