Two die as biker hits pedestrian in Faridpur

A motorcyclist and a pedestrian were killed when the motorcycle hit the pedestrian in the Bhanga Interchange area of the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Faridpur on Wednesday night.


The deceased were identified as pedestrian Hridoy Sheikh, 20, son of Ilias Sheikh of Chilarchar village under Bhanga municipality, and motorcyclist Shakib Sheikh, 22, son of Enayet Munshi Sheikh of Nagarkanda municipality in Faridpur.

Sub-Inspector Sohan of Bhanga Highway Police Station said Shakib Sheikh was riding the motorcycle at a high speed towards Dhaka from Nagarkanda, reports UNB.

When he reached the interchange area, the motorcycle hit Hridoy Sheikh around 8:30pm while he was crossing the road. Both died on the spot, he said.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and the motorcycle involved in the accident.
