Two people were killed and four others, including the CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver, were injured when a truck and the auto-rickshaw collided head-on in Trishal upazila of Mymensingh on Monday morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Rezaul Karim, sub-inspector (SI) of Trishal Police Station, said the accident occurred around 8:30am near Thakurbaria intersection on the Trishal-Balipara road when a Balipara-bound truck collided head-on with the passenger auto-rickshaw heading towards Trishal, leaving two passengers dead on the spot.

The injured were identified as CNG driver Faizul, 34, and passengers Rubel, 30, Hridoy, 22, and Nabil, 22.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Trishal Upazila Health Complex. Later, Faizul and Rubel were referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital as their condition was critical, reports UNB.
