Two cousins electrocuted in Mymensingh

The deceased were identified as Sahab Uddin Akand, 59, and Dhanu Akand, 61, of Kharuali village.

Local people said Dhanu Akand went to his paddy field in the morning to spray pesticide. At one stage, he came into contact with the snapped power cable and was electrocuted.

After noticing it, Sahab Uddin rushed to rescue him but also came into contact with the live wire and was electrocuted.

Later, the two were taken to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead, said Mohammad Zahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Police Station.

Nasir Uddin, general manager of Mymensingh Palli Bidyut Samity-2, said two investigation committees were formed in connection with the incident, reports UNB.
