Case filed over BM depot fire incident in Ctg

Chattogram District Police filed a case last night against eight suspects in connection with the BM Container Depot fire incident at Shitolpur area under Sitakunda Upazila of the district.

SI Ashraf Siddique filed the case with Sitakunda Thana on Tuesday night, Ashraful Karim, Additional Superintendent of Police (Adi SP) Sitakunda Circle told  the journalists today.

The case was filed against them for their alleged negligence in running the depot properly, the Adi.SP added.

Though they were identified but the police official did not give additional information about them until they were arrested.

Ashraf said the matter is being investigated and if specific allegation were found against them, then they would be added to the suspect list.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the massive fire incident at BM container depot rose to 44 with 36 years old crane driver Masud Rana succumbed to his burn injuries at Chattogram Medical College Hospital early today, reports BSS.
