2 truck helpers killed in Dhaka-Mawa Highway accident

Two truck helpers were killed when one hit another one in Rajendrapur on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway early Wednesday.



Two truck helpers were killed when one hit another one in Rajendrapur on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway early Wednesday.

The deceased were Hossain Sheikh, 24, and Imon, 19. Both were the assistant of the two trucks.

Sohal Mandal, driver of one truck, was also injured in the accident.

Hasara highway police SI Md Khorshed Alam said one of the truck driver and helper were repairing their truck, which was out of service, parking the vehicle on the highway. Suddenly, a running truck hit the standing one from behind around 12:30am, leaving three persons of both the trucks injured.

Critically injured three were whisked off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where Imon and Hossain were declared dead by the on-duty doctors.

The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue.
