Child killed 'by father' while trying to save mother
A five-year-old child has been killed allegedly by his father while trying to save his mother from him at Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur .
A five-year-old child has been killed allegedly by his father while trying to save his mother from him at Parbatipur upazila in Dinajpur district.
The incident took place at Dakshin Shalandar village around 6:30 am, Wednesday.
Deceased Zakaria Zakir was son of Delwar Hossain, a resident of the Dakshin Shalandar village.
Quoting locals, police said Zakaria asked his father to give him some money this morning as usual but, he refused it. At that time, his father Delwar and mother Zakia locked in an altercation over the matter and, later, Delwar started beating Zakia.
Delwar also struck Zakaria's chest when he went to save his mother, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, said Parbatipur Model Police Station officer in-charge Abul Hasnat Sarkar.
Meanwhile, Delwar went into hiding after the incident.
Legal steps in this regard are under process, the OC added.
