Five jail officials transferred over militants escape

Five Kashimpur jail officials, including the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of prisons of Dhaka Division, have been transferred over two militants escape incident.



Five Kashimpur jail officials, including the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of prisons of Dhaka Division, have been transferred over two militants escape incident.

Touhidul Islam, DIG (prisons) of Dhaka division has been transferred to Rangpur Division, while AKM Fazlul Hoque, Chattogram division DIG of prisons, will replace Touhidul.

Meanwhile, Md Altab Hossain, DIG (prisons) of Rangpur division, has been transferred to Chattogram division, according to a notice signed by Mohammad Abu Sayed Molla, deputy secretary of Home Ministry.

Besides, senior jail superintendent of Kashimpur High Security Jail  Md Abdul Jalil was transferred to Rajshahi Central Jail. He will be replaced by Subrata Kumar Bala, senior jail superintendent of Rajshahi Central Jail.

On Sunday (November 20), two death-row convicts Abu Siddique Sohel and Moinul Hasan Shamim, members of banned militant outfit Ansar al Islam, were whisked away by their associates spraying chemicals on police eyes at the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court arena.
