1 killed, 5 injured in Chattogram in bus-truck crash

Chattogram, Feb 10 – An assistant of a truck driver was killed, and five others were injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway in Lohagara upazila Friday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Md Mofiz from Charfesson upazila of Bhola.
The accident occurred as the Cox's Bazar-bound bus of Shah Ali Paribahan and the truck of Paragon Transport collided head-on in the Mithar Dokan area under the upazila, killing Mofiz on the spot and leaving five injured, Mohammad Hossain, a sub-inspector at Dohazari Highway Police Station, said.
"We seized the vehicles soon after the accident. The injured, including the critically injured truck driver, were sent to different hospitals," he added.
Mofiz's body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said, adding that legal actions will be taken in connection with the accident. - UNB
