Three people riding a motorcycle were killed in a crash with a bus on Monday (March 6) on the Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in Mannan Nagar Bazar area at Tarash upazila in Sirajganj district.
Two of the deceased were identified as Alamgir Hossain, 22, son of Barek Sarker of Belkuchi upazila; and Sujon, 21, son of Helal Uddin of Rajshahi's Puthiya upazila. The other could not be identified immediately.
All the three were the students of Natore City College.
A bus crashed their motorbike while it reached Mannan Nagar area on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway at 7am, leaving the three students dead on the spot said Badrul Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Hatikumrul highway police station.
Police recovered the bodies and brought them to police station, the OC said.
The killer bus, however, fled the scene after the incident.
Another report adds: At least two persons were killed as a fish-laden truck hit another sand-laden truck from the back side in Fakirhat of Bagerhat on Monday morning.
The accident took place around 6.30am in Chairman Bari More area of Dhaka-Khulna highway.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Officer-in-Charge of Mollahat Highway Thana Mehedi Hasan confirmed the news.
