Gulistan explosion death toll climbs to 14

"Six more persons succumbed to their injuries at DMCH emergency department," confirmed BSS DMCH correspondent at 6:58pm. 

Firefighters first recovered four bodies from the spot and later, they also recovered four more bodies, duty officers of fire service headquarters Khaleda Yeasmin and Rashed Bin Khaled told BSS. 

However, neither the fire service nor the DMCH authorities could confirm the identity of the victims. 

Earlier, our DMCH correspondent said nine critically injured persons were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMH). 

The explosion took place at the building situated near Gulistan BRTC bus counter at 4:50 pm, the fire service officials said, adding five units of fire service rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
