Two people were killed as a goods-landed truck hit the pillar of a bridge in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Saturday.



Two people were killed as a goods-landed truck hit the pillar of a bridge in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar early Saturday.
The accident took place around 5.00am in Uttar Harbangkalatali area of Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway.
The deceased are Ershad Mondol, 38, the truck driver hailing from Jhenaidah, and Md Shibbir Ahmed Maruf, 19, the helper hailing from Sylhet district.
Inspector of Chiringa Highway Thana Imon Chowdhury said the goods-laden truck was going to Cox’s Bazar but it hit the pillar of a bridge as the driver lost the control over it.
Police seized the truck and sent the dead bodies to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.
