Bodies recovered from trawler in Cox’s Bazar identified

Relatives and local public representatives have identified the deceased of of 10 bodies were recovered from a trawler washed ashore in Nazirartek area of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.



A total of 10 bodies were recovered from a trawler washed ashore in Nazirartek area of Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.

Relatives and local public representatives have identified the deceased.

Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam confirmed the news.

The deceased are Saiful Islam, 18, Sawkat Ullah, 18,  Osman Gani, 17,  Saiful Islam, 34, Mohammad Shahjahan, 35, and Tarique Zia, 25, Saifullah, 23, Parvez Mosharraf, 14, and Nurul Kabir, 28, Saiful Islam, 34. 

Cox’s Bazar Municipality Ward no.1 Councillor Akter Kamal said locals noticed the trawler and informed the administration.

Later, members from the administration, police and fire service recovered the decomposed bodies.
