A couple and their two children were burnt in a fire broke out at their house in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat on Friday midnight.



A couple and their two children were burnt in a fire broke out at their house in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat on Friday midnight.

The incident took place at the house of Jaynal at Dakkhin Holdibunia village of Chila Union.

The burnt people are Jaynal Khan (38), son of Mohammad Ali Khan, his wife Kakoli Khan, 28, son Jihadul Islam (3), and daughter Bristi Akhter (18). They are undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.

The fire originated from electric short circuit when the family members were sleeping. Hearing hue and cry for help, neighbours rushed in and managed to bring the fire under their control.
