Six sustain burn injuries in Mymensingh

Six people including three members of a family sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out during the installation of a gas cylinder and stove in a house in Sankipara area of Mymensingh on Saturday.

The injured are--house owner Nazrul Islam, 55, his grandson Sowad ,10, and son-in-law Swaib Mahmud ,40, stove mechanics Billal Hossain ,40, Saddam Hossain ,40 and Sabbir ,22.

The blaze broke out this afternoon while the mechanics were setting up the gas cylinder and stove, leaving them injured, said Shah Kamal Akand, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali police station.

The injured were rescued and rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, he added.

One of the two injured, who are in critical condition, was sent to Dhaka for better treatment.
