Mahua Express Train derails in Gazipur

Mahua Express Train derailed at Gazipur on Thursday, Jan 20 2022.



Gazipur, Jan 20 - Two compartments and the engine of a Netrakona-bound train derailed at Kawraid Railway Station in Gazipur Thursday noon.

Several passengers were injured while trying to get off the train.

The engine and two bogies of Mahua Express Train veered off the tracks before entering Kawraid station around 11:45 pm, said Anwar Hossain, station master of Kawraid Railway Station.

Due to the derailment, rail movement on line two of Kawraid railway station remained suspended. However, the trains are running on line one, said the station master

The higher authorities were informed to salvage the train, he added. - UNB
