Dhaka, May 30 -A gas cylinder explosion on DIT Road in the Badda area of Dhaka early this morning resulted in one fatality and left another person injured.

The explosion occurred at approximately 6:43 am on the ground floor of a three-storey building.

The identities of the deceased and the injured have not yet been confirmed.

Two units from the Baridhara Fire Station responded promptly to the incident and extinguished the fire.

Talha bin Jashim, Station Officer of the FSCD Headquarters Media Cell, said that the exact cause of the explosion will be known after investigation.

Preliminary suspicions suggest that a gas cylinder leakage may have caused the blast.
