‘Extremely delicate’ situation in Hormuz as US, Iran attack ships

The IRNA state news agency is reporting that explosion-like sounds were heard in Qeshm, Jask, Sirik, and also in Bandar Abbas. However, they have not said that this is an attack

What we are understanding from these statements is that these are Iranian tests – a military exercise or a show of readiness for any new round of war.

So far there is no confirmation neither from the US side nor from the Iranian side that any attack has happened in the locations that I just mentioned.

However, having said that, the situation is extremely delicate. What we are seeing is the US attacking Iranian ships and then Iranians directly or indirectly stopping or attacking the vessels over there, and that is creating an extremely delicate situation.

The concern is that these kind of back-and-forth attacks could ignite a new round of war, reports AL Jazeera.
