Ambulance driver dead, 4 injured in Dinajpur road crash



Dinajpur, June 18 - An ambulance driver died and four others were injured when a bus hit the vehicle at Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on the Dinajpur-Gobindganj regional highway at the Vimpur area of Fulbari around 11 AM.

The deceased was identified as Ehsan Ali (38) of Chandipur village in Hakimpur.

Udayan Nath, in-charge of Fulbari Fire Service and Civil Defense, confirmed the matter.

Four of the injured were sent to the Fulbari Upazila Health Complex for treatment, he said.

Ehsan succumbed to his injuries on the way to MB Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital. The others injured, including the patient, suffered broken limbs, said the fire official.

According to locals, the ambulance, transporting 20-year-old Setu Sarker from Saduaria village in Hakimpur, was en route to the MB Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for treatment of poisoning. The patient was in critical condition and being rushed for better medical care in a private ambulance when the collision took place.

According to eyewitnesses, a Shyamoli Paribahan bus heading towards Dhaka collided with the ambulance.-UNB
