Three Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Rajshahi

Three people lost their lives in two separate road accidents in Mohanpur upazila, Rajshahi, yesterday.


In the first incident, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a human hauler in the Saipara area of the Rajshahi-Naogaon highway around 9:45 PM. Two victims were identified as Polash, son of Momtazul Islam, and Abdul Quddus, 40, son of the late Tota Mondal. Both sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Mohanpur Upazila Health Complex, where they were pronounced dead.

Abdul Hannan, the officer-in-charge of Mohanpur Police Station, confirmed that the driver of the human hauler was arrested along with the vehicle involved in the collision.

In a separate incident, Aminul Islam, 45, a van driver from Sakoya village, was injured when a speeding motorbike collided head-on with his van in the Keshorehat area. He was later taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police have filed two separate cases regarding the accidents, according to the OC.
