Three Dead, Seven Injured in Separate Accidents in Faridpur

Three people were killed and seven others injured in two separate road accidents in Faridpur on Monday night.


The victims were identified as Tajim Sardar, 20, Shaon Matubber, 24, and Md Milon, 25. Among the injured was Khalid, aged 1, along with five others whose identities remain unknown.

The first incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in Nagarkanda Upazila on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway, where a collision between a truck and a motorcycle claimed the lives of two friends. Tajim died instantly at the scene, while Shaon succumbed to his injuries at Bhanga Hospital. Khalid, another passenger on the motorcycle, was critically injured and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Mamun of Bhanga Highway Police Station reported that the motorcycle, which was traveling from Bhanga, was struck by an unidentified truck heading in the opposite direction. Authorities are currently conducting a legal investigation.

In the second accident, a man was killed and six others injured in a crash in Madhukhali Upazila. The incident occurred in the afternoon when a Golden Line Paribahan bus, traveling from Faridpur, collided with a Sraboni Construction Limited vehicle at Maskandi. The impact caused the bus to fall into a ditch. The bus helper was killed on the spot, and six others were injured.

The injured individuals were promptly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, and police have launched further investigations into the incident.
