A tragic accident occurred late Thursday night (January 8) near Dhaka, where a collision between an ambulance and a passenger bus led to a devastating fire. The explosion of a gas cylinder inside the ambulance triggered a blaze that engulfed both the ambulance and two nearby buses. Tragically, four individuals inside the ambulance were killed in the fire, while at least seven passengers from the buses sustained injuries.

The accident took place in the Police Town area on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway, as confirmed by Fire Service official Alauddin. According to local sources, the ambulance collided with a bus on the Dhaka-bound lane. The force of the collision caused the ambulance's gas cylinder to explode, which sparked a fire that quickly spread to the nearby bus. Flames then spread further to another bus parked behind the first.

Fire Service officials confirmed that the fire was brought under control by 2:50 a.m., with the passengers of the buses managing to escape the flames. Seven injured individuals were rushed to the hospital, while several others received immediate medical assistance from locals. Sadly, the four victims inside the ambulance were unable to survive the blaze. Their bodies have been recovered and handed over to the police, although their identities have not yet been released.

Savar Highway Police Station In-Charge, Sawgatul Alam, confirmed the deaths of the four individuals inside the ambulance and stated that efforts are underway to gather further details about the incident.
