At least 11 family members, including four children, were injured in a fire caused by a gas cylinder explosion in a flat in Dhaka’s Ashulia area on the night of February 14.

The incident occurred around 9:30 pm at a residential building owned by Amzad Bepari in Gomail. According to witnesses, the explosion happened while the family was preparing rice cakes (pitha) in the kitchen. The blast quickly engulfed the flat in flames, leaving the victims with varying degrees of burns.

The injured were rescued by locals and rushed to Ashulia Women and Children's Hospital. After receiving initial treatment, they were transferred to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for further care.
