Two people were killed and two others injured in a tragic accident when a bus collided with a CNG-run autorickshaw in Gazipur on Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. in the Shibbari area of Gazipur city. While the identities of the victims are yet to be confirmed, authorities reported that a bus, believed to be operated by Gazipur Paribahan, was traveling at high speed towards Dhaka when it lost control and crashed into the autorickshaw. The force of the impact led to the instant death of two passengers.

The two injured individuals were quickly rushed to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for treatment, said Samad Mia, Station Master at Gazipur Fire Service.

In the aftermath of the collision, an angry crowd gathered at the scene and set the bus on fire. Firefighters promptly responded to the situation and brought the blaze under control, according to Mia.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent to the Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem, confirmed Sub-Inspector (SI) Swapna Akter of Joydebpur Police Station.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
