15 Police Hurt in Truck-Police van Collision in Lalmonirhat

At least 15 policemen were injured in a road accident when a truck collided with a police vehicle at Haribhanga Mazar in Sadar upazila, Lalmonirhat district, on Monday.

The injured officers were identified as Sub-Inspector Rafiqul Islam, Abu Bakkar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Mahesh, Nayek Shakhawat, Nayek Rahinul, Constables Saiful, Manik, Sabuj, Mozammel, Nayan, Zafar, Shahadat, Ilias, and Mostafa.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. when the truck struck the police vehicle, which was transporting the officers to the Sindurmati Fair. The collision left the officers injured, according to the Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station.

The injured policemen were rushed to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Police have arrested the truck driver, Sohan, in connection with the incident.
