2 Killed in Truck-Bus Collision in Brahmanbaria

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in the Kuti area on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway under Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria district today.

The deceased were identified as Amir Hossain, 34, of Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla, and Akash, a resident of Charchartala village in Ashuganj upazila of Brahmanbaria.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mamun Rahman of Khatihat Highway Police Station in Sarail confirmed the incident.

He said the accident occurred when a Siam Paribahan bus collided head-on with a coal-laden truck coming from the opposite direction, killing Amir on the spot and injuring several others.

Truck driver Akash, who was critically injured, died on the way to Dhaka while being taken for advanced treatment, the OC added.

Police have seized both vehicles involved in the crash, and further investigation is underway.
