BRTC Bus, Mahendra vehicle collision kills three in M'singh

At least three people were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a BRTC bus and a passenger vehicle, locally called 'Mahendra' in Ishwarganj upazila in the district today.


The deceased were Abdus Sobhan, 60, of Paikura village in Barahit Union, his son Sabuj Miah, 30 and Kohinoor Sultana Hasina, 35, of Daripanchashi village under Sadar Union.

The injured were Sabbir, 27, Shiuli, 27, Rafiqul Islam, 30, Abdul Gani, 50, Ramzan, 23, and Shahin, 25.

According to local sources, a Mymensingh-bound BRTC bus collided head-on with a Mahendra vehicle in Dattapara area of Ishwarganj municipality on the Mymensingh-Kishoreganj highway around dusk, leaving three Mahendra passengers dead on the spot and others injured.

The injured were initially treated at Ishwarganj Upazila Health Complex and later referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, reports BSS. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwarganj Police Station Obaidur Rahman confirmed the incident.
