Three women electrocuted in Bandarban

Three Mro women of a same family died after being electrocuted in Ranglai Chairmanpara on Bandarban-Chimbuk road of Bandarban district.


The deceased were identified as Tumle Mro, 17, Urkan Mro, 71, and Rawleng Mro, 35. All three were residents of Ranglai Chairmanpara.

Five others were injured in the accident. The wounded were taken to Bandarban Sadar Hospital.

According to police and local residents, the accident occurred at Ranglai Chairmanpara in the '13 Mile' area of the Bandarban-Chimbuk road on Sunday midnight. 

The incident occurred following the explosion of an electrical transformer near the village. The women were reportedly electrocuted after coming into contact with live wires, leading to their deaths. 

District Police Superintendent Shahidullah Kausar confirmed the matter saying that police rushed to the spot in the morning after receiving the information., reports BSS. 

Details will be known later, he added.
