Two young motorcyclists were killed early today after being hit by an unidentified bus in the Puraton BOC area on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar Highway in Lohagara upazila of the district.

The deceased were identified as Md Sohel (25) from Laxmipur in Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla and Md Abu Bakkar Siddique (15) from Jungle Khaiyar of Bhujpur in Fatikchhari upazila of Chattogram, Sub-Inspector (SI) Ruhul Amin of the Dohazari Highway Police confirmed.

Sohel was a shop owner in the city and Siddique was his employee. They were heading to Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar by motorbike when a Chattogram-bound AC bus hit their vehicle and fled the scene, leaving them dead on the spot, SI Ruhul Amin said.

Eyewitnesses said locals rushed to the scene after hearing a loud noise and found the motorcycle on the ground, with the two victims lying nearby, reports BSS.

The bodies have been handed over to the families after completion of the inquest report as requested. The damaged motorcycle is currently in police custody, SI Ruhul Amin added.
