Two motorcyclists killed on Dhaka-Aricha highway

Two motorcyclists were killed in separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway here in the district this evening.


According to Golora Highway Police, the first accident occurred around 5:15 pm when a speeding covered van hit a Dhaka-bound motorcycle near Nayadingi area. The rider died on the spot.

The deceased was identified as Mir Tanvir Hossain, son of Mir Shahdat Hossain, from Nali village under Ghior Upazila in Manikganj.

The second accident took place around 7:15 pm on Jagir Bridge in Manikganj Sadar Upazila. A speeding truck struck motorcycle rider Maruf, who also died on the spot. 

Maruf was a resident of Gilanda village in Sadar upazila and an employee at a factory in the BSCIC industrial area.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Golora Highway Police Abul Kalam Azad said both bodies were sent to the Manikganj 250-Bed District Hospital for autopsy, reports BSS.
