Lalmonirhat road crash leaves 2 dead

Two people were killed and another was injured when an autorickshaw carrying them overturned in Aditmari Upazila of Lalmonirhat district on Saturday.


The deceased are Bakul Mia, 58, son of Talebbar Rahman of Dakshin Balapara Bromattar village of Mahishkhocha union, and Atiqul Islam Atiq, 34.

The identity of the injured woman could not be known immediately.

The accident occurred around 11am when the vehicle lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Ansar Khan Pukurpar area of Mahishkhocha Bazar-Aditmari Bypass Road, leaving Atiq dead on the spot, reports UNB. 

Of the injured, Bakul succumbed to his injuries on the way to the Upazila Health Complex, said Ali Akbar, officer-in-charge of Aditmari Police Station.

Another injured victim is undergoing treatment at the health complex.
