Mother, son killed in Kushtia road crash

A woman and her son were killed when a truck hit them in Bottola intersection in Kushtia Sadar Upazila on Friday.



A woman and her son were killed when a truck hit them in Bottola intersection in Kushtia Sadar Upazila on Friday.

The deceased were known as Anjana Khatun, 40 and her son Iftiaz, 22.

Locals said, riding a motorcycle Anjana and her two sons were heading towards relatives' house this morning. Meanwhile, a speedy truck hit them from the opposite directions in the area, leaving one of the dead on the spot and injured two others.

Later, the injured were sent to Kushtia General Hospital where another one died under treatment.

Confirming the matter, Kushtia highway police inspector Md Idris Ali said the truck driver and helper fled the scene after the accident.
