Two young motorcyclists were killed in a road accident in Madhupur upazila of the district on Monday evening after their motorcycle lost control and hit a roadside electric pillar.

The accident occurred on the Tangail-Mymensingh regional highway at Jhaloi, a forest area, police said.

The deceased were identified as Rakib, 26, of Char Fashion upazila in Barishal, and Yasin, 26, son of Mokhlesur Rahman of Pakutia Paschim Para village under Deulabari union in Ghatail upazila of Tangail.

Police and locals said the duo was heading to Ghatail from Rasulpur in Madhupur at high speed. As they were passing through the hilly forest area, the rider lost control of the motorcycle, which then crashed into a roadside electric pillar. Both of them were thrown off the motorcycle and died on the spot, reports BSS.
