College teacher killed in Satkhira road crash

A college teacher was killed in a road accident at Kadakati Bazar in Ashasuni upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.


The deceased was Golam Azam, son of Abdul Gaffar of Mahmudpur village in Satkhira Sadar upazila. He was the president of the governing council of Satkhira Simanto Adarsh College and lecturer of Paikgachha Fosiyar Rahman Women's College.

According to local sources, the lecturer was returning home from Paikgachha Fosiyar Rahman Women’s College when his motorcycle collided with another motorcycle parked on the roadside, causing him to fall. In that moment, another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction ran over him.

Locals rescued him and took him to Satkhira Islami Bank Community Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead, reports BSS. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Asashuni Police Station Shamsul Arefin confirmed the matter.
