One killed, three hurt in Jashore road crash

A man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident at the Afra intersection on the Chowgachha-Jashore road in Chowgachha upazila of the district this evening.


The deceased was identified as Humayun Kabir Ripon, 45, a resident of Bariyali village in the upazila. He was an army personnel stationed at Jashore Cantonment.

Quoting local residents, police said the accident occurred when two motorcycles collided head-on at the intersection. Ripon died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries, reports BSS. 

The injured -- Hasan, 40, Rahul, 20 and Tuhin, 35 -- were rescued by locals and taken to Jashore General Hospital for treatment.
