The Cabinet has approved a proposal to declare November 7 a public holiday every year to observe “National Revolution and Solidarity Day.”

The decision was taken at the Cabinet’s 23rd meeting on Monday and announced at a press briefing following the meeting.

Under the decision, November 7 will be observed annually as “National Revolution and Solidarity Day” and will be included as a Class-A day in the Cabinet Division’s circular on the observance of national and international days.

The Cabinet has also revised the dates of public holidays for Durga Puja in 2026.

According to the revised schedule, the Durga Puja holiday will be observed from October 20 to 22. October 17, however, will remain a working day.
