The government has appointed 40 more candidates to the education cadre under the 49th Bangladesh Civil Services (BCS), according to a notification issued by the Public Administration Ministry on Monday night.

The appointments were made in the second phase following recommendations by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).

Earlier, on last Thursday, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed had stated that a notification regarding the appointment of the 46 candidates who had been left out of the initial notification for the special education cadre of the 49th special BCS would be published soon.

Candidates had been waiting for a long time regarding the appointment process for the special education cadre of the 49th special BCS.

Although the appointment notifications were issued in several phases following the recommendations of the Public Service Commission (PSC), the exclusion of some candidates from the notifications had sparked discussion.

In continuation of this, the notification, appointing these 40 additional candidates, was issued.

This marks another step forward in the recruitment process for the special education cadre of the 49th special BCS; a notification appointing 611 candidates had previously been issued last week.

Relevant sources stated that the posting process for the concerned candidates would be completed following the necessary formalities and required verification procedures.

Officials also noted that merit, qualifications and established regulations are being followed in the recruitment process for government jobs, reports BSS.
